Communism would still be awful because it doesn't have basic inequality built in. People are not equal, and any society they create should express that or doom itself. So yeah, if people ignored their tribalism tendencies, one of the most basic aspects of human psychology, and were all genetically engineered clones, and we still lived in a world where people made things with their hands, communism would be great!
