UNLESS Slavic trg is a loanword from Illyrian? Old Church Slavonic was pretty much only for/from south Slavs, so it's pretty conceivable that they began by trading with the Illyrians, took trg and a bunch of other loanwords from them, then began ruling their shit, fugging their women, and imposing their language.
