They didn't, Germany had a thing called "positive Christianity" where Jesus was an Aryan Nordic superhero who beat the shit out of Jews and they spent a lot of time breaking the traditional Catholic and Protestant churches power

Hitler didn't like the influence and power the churches had and wanted to replace them with a Führer-cult or state-cult (just look at the SS pagan rituals). Problem was however, Germans liked their religion and he wasn't able to get rid of it (hence "Gott mit uns" on belt-buckels). So he made a "deal" with the churches (especially the catholic church and pope), that they wouldn't be taken over by the party (Gleichschaltung), in return the priests/pastors would preach a positive, uncritical, view of the Nazis.

Nazis werent all that very christin. Like most fascists they sucked up to them as long as they felt they needed to but they didnt really care for them othervise. Sucking up to christianity usually gets the conservative vote easily so fascists tend to suck up to them.

The Christian Nazis interested in the subject argued that Jesus and the apostles were not ethnic Jews but Galileans - a distinct ethnic group. For them, this made the execution of Christ an even more serious crime committed by the Jews.

Because they understood that Christianity still resonated heavily with most Germans and they wanted to have a wide base of support. Privately, Hitler and Nazis hated Christianity and they would have tried to phase it out over time if they had won the war.
