This is by far the best podcast for the history of philosophical thought

In Our Time is a good'un, wide variety of subjects and the guests are actual historians unlike a lot of other podcasts
The biggest challenge is not getting mad at Melvyn "I'll have to stop you there as we're running short on time" Bragg for constantly cutting the guests off

History of Byzantium, it's a sequel to History of Rome only even better. The author Robin Pierson is covering all Byzantine history chronologically and most of it is free. A good intro is Episode 27 "The Walking Dead" about the plague of Justinian. Highly highly recommend.

Rex Factor. It's a podcast discussing all of the Kings and Queens of England from Alfred the Great to Elizabeth the Second.
