Several have AIMED to be Marxist, none have really succeeded in abolishing the state and class hierarchy which is kind of important if you want to call yourself a Marxian Communist society. There really isn't any chance of that happening until someone develops a viable way to eliminate hierarchy without allowing another hierarchy to fill that vacuum.

I agree 100 percent with you, but Marxism is also utopian in its end goal. For example you can say true Anrchism, Democracy, or Kingdom of God have never been tried.
