I really don't understand why you people think Hitler is the most evil man ever. Are you all Ameritards that learned just recent history and unaware of past crimes and rulers. There are some Roman emperors that were definitely worse, and that's just one state.

Let me answer this seriously without calling you a stormfag or blaming it on Jews. I might not be national socialist, but I also do think America over vilifies Hitler to an obsessive point.

Don't let anyone fool you, Hitler absolutely believed in his cause and was very manipulative and blatantly lied to the people who helped him get to power. If you want examples, I'll be glad to give some. I don't believe in "evil," as everybody thinks they have the best intentions imo. Hitler was very ruthless in his quest to power, and life proved worthless to him in that quest. However, as you and many have said, many more leaders throughout history have done worse.

I think two things make Americans so obsessed with Hitler:
1. We live in a society that is also obsessed with race, and the whole killing people because of their race thing has been ingrained into Americans' minds as the ultimate evil. While Americans don't believe in politically motivated killings, it is still more justified in their minds over killing for race. With so many people eager to not be vilified as a racist, Hitler is pretty much the lowest hanging fruit for people to call evil and lambast.
2. Americans, Europeans, and Russians all fought him in a war, which is remembered today in America as "the last Great War" that is still being written, filmed, and even sung about 70 years after. We have such a nostalgia of this war the people who fought it, and how great America was at that time that we also tend to remember the foe in an equally nostalgic way, albeit a nostalgic hatred. It is like we are still fighting him, and the government is so intent on never letting another fascist movement take place in Europe and America that they obsess over WW2 and the Holocaust to students. Basically, we seem to still be stuck in the WW2 propaganda mindset of fighting Hitler at all costs. We haven't faced a beast of such force, tenacity, and fear invocation since then that it is still held over.
