The second it became useful Europe conquered in a flash. The second they realized they could have african ressources without touching africa thanks to neo-colonialism they went out.

In all seriousness, it wouldn't be difficult at all to start taking Africa by force. The problem is that imperialism on that level is seen as completely taboo/unethical today.

Reading African history worries me greatly because it always ends in disaster.

People tried but it's too fucking expensive. It's better to let them rule themselves and just send your companies in to get what you want instead.
