shouldn't there actually be some evidence of the ruins of this great structure if it had existed? I mean it was this towering building threatening to reach into the clouds. It must have been massive. Furthermore all that was supposedly done to it was that it was left in a state of disrepair because the people building it couldn't communicate. So seriously where the fuck is it?

probably about the only thing in the beginning of genesis that I think actually was just a parable, being about the neobabylonian empire (babel). obviously in the context of genesis it's not, but the story could have existed before it was put in genesis

There actually is some evidence that they based this story after a real monument - but, like pretty much everything in the Jewish "scripture" - it's more lies, blasphemy, and terrorism than truth.
