What would've happened if the Great Heathen Armt had succeeded? Was it close to succeeding? Why was it that the provinces the GHA took there aren't any traces of Paganism during those times, or is there?

Britain would be more like modern day Scandinavia
>>
It would've probably been the first instance of a European country reconverting from christianity to paganism. But it would possibly also have given the continent impetus to invade England on theological grounds.
>>

Why didn't Englanc become more Scandanized when Cnut the great invaded with his army?

The cultures themselves were largely not *that* dissimilar, the language was effectively mutually intelligible, and in fact many old norse words are used daily in English speech due to the Danelaw like; window, law, they, them, and their

I thougt the Normans were Norse Germanic, is this false ?

Actuallly...
Britain was partially Christianized during Roman times, when the Saxons arrived Paganism was "reintroduced".
So it would be the first country to have Paganism "reintroduced" twice and then being rechristianized once more.

The languages were quite different but during the what, almost 300 years, of Danish presence on the island, the two languages incorporated a lot of the other.

No, its because William asked the pope for approval of his invasion and Alexander most likely gave it because of french influence.
King Harold was actually fighting the Norwegian at the time William invaded.

They were but they adopted the languages of the lands they settled creating the Norman dialect
