So i've been mulling this over but its hard to bring up without sounding like a /pol/tard, but what percentage of european jews were really "genetically" jewish by WWII?
Russia allegedly had the largest jewish population in europe during catherine's time, but I dont know any historical forces that would have pushed them there, so I have to assume a fair number were converts from pagan religions.
Conversely, a lot of spanish jews fled to africa during the inquisition, but a large enough number renounced their faith and became christians that the spanish crown began checking geneology to see how many generations your family had been christian for. There have to be a ton of spaniards walking around today with significant jewish blood, right?
I know you dont need to pile on any more reasons that aryan supremacy is a joke, but this seems to add an extra layer of absurdity to it.

I don't know much about this but I believe that Southern Italy had quit a few Jews. IIRC Sicily at one point in time was 10% Jewish which is pretty high considering everything.

It is a very hard topic to research without ending up at either stormfront or some ultra zionist "historical account"
Apparently they were allowed to own land there, so that makes a lot of sense that they'd congregate. Until of course Isabella seized their property and forced them out
9000/30,000 are listed as having converted though so that just fuels my theory.
