Apparently, being on “the right side of history” means that you’re going down in history on the “correct” side of a big situation. But that’s funny, since America has often been on the wrong side of big things. For example, during World War II, we should have sided with the Axis countries against the mass murdering Soviet Union. But we didn’t. We sided with the communists. We weren’t on the right side of history.

Thats really easy for you to say butt you have to put yourself in the shoes of the Average American back in the early '40s. Most Americans didn't want to go to war and counted themselves lucky to have an ocean between them and Europe/Asia. Of course, as far as the average American was concerned, we got blindsided by the Japs and then suddenly Italy and Germany declared war on us too. Those Germans you seem to have a hard on for were pretty quick to declare war so of course the everyday American was ready to stomp some kraut and jap heads in.
hindsight is 20/20, instead of shitting on your elders (Im assuming your American and lean to the right) and your dead countrymen, you should divert your energy on fighting for their sacrifice.
If not well, you can always catch a plane back to Germany and help fix their country.
