It's Norse / Germanic neopaganism.
As a general rule European groups have non literal beliefs and are liberal and fully accepting of LGBT and non white members.
For example the Icelandic Asatruar group called for gay marriage before it was legalised.
While there are liberal and non literalist groups in America, there are also a significant number of Neo-Nazi style groups which hold literalist beliefs and believe only Nordic people can follow the religion.
These American groups actually send death threats to European and Scandinavian groups and claim Europeans are "doing it wrong".
Generally groups that call themselves Asatru, Forn Sed, or Heathenry are more liberal while the Varg-esque types call themselves Odalists, Wotanists, etc.
