How would WWI have gone if instead of the schlieffen plan Germany decided to defend against France and attack Russia and the French, like our timeline, executed plan xvii?

France would have been much stronger. The area of France that the Germans occupied had a disproportionate amount of their coal mining and manufacturing. I think Germany still would have been screwed.

Presumably Britain wouldn't have entered the war and blockade Germany. I believe the French suffered pretty bad losses in their initial assault over the Franco-German border.

Could the Germans try and exhaust the French?

Under that presumption, Turkey wouldn't have entered the war.
Or they would've entered with the allies to take Bulgaria.
