And over here we can see the terrible state of Russian peasant before being liberated by heroic communist freedom fighters. Starving and sickly, most in the picture died from bubonic plague by the time night rolled around.

Do you consider Italian futurists leftist?

Also,
>Anno Domini 2017
>unironically using "left" and "right"
>>
>>2986853
Not him, but futurists were extreme progressives and tied to fascism, fascism originates with national syndicalism which is a leftist ideology, plus Mussolini himself was a Marxist for a long time.
>>
>>2986956
>Mussolini himself was a Marxist for a long time
He was in the socialist party, yes, but I find it difficult to believe that he was a marxist. For one, he postulated the nation to be an organic unity of all the groups that create it, which is the exact opposite of the marxist conflict perspective, which is the basis of both classical and contemporary left-wing politics. He was also a nationalist, which would make no sense in a marxian frame, given Marx's analysis of nationalism.
>futurists were extreme progressives and tied to fascism
Correct.
>fascism originates with national syndicalism
That's correct for Spain, where the national syndicalist JONS made a significant part of the core of the Falange until carlists joined, and later, until Franco gutted it. Italian fascism grew from a mixture of the patriotic, pro-war (regarding ww1) wing of the Italian socialist party that followed Mussolini, avant-garde futurists and dissatisfied veterans. Later the core changed, losing out on some former socialist and futurist supporters as Mussolini tied himself closer to the conservatives.
>which is a leftist ideology
Inaccurate. National syndicalism was a synthesis of some ideas commonly held by the left and the right. Or rather, that's what it developed into by the time fascists incorporated it. In Sorel's conception, it would have been closer to what you would consider the left-wing.

And I'll repeat myself
>Anno Domini 2017
>unironically using "left" and "right"
>>
>>2986403
He's just finding a fun way to post these interesting pics you damn spoilsport.
>>
>>2987118
>For one, he postulated the nation to be an organic unity of all the groups that create it, which is the exact opposite of the marxist conflict perspective, which is the basis of both classical and contemporary left-wing politics.
I forgot to stress this point. Given the fascist rejection of the conflict perspective (class conflict in orthodox marxism, sex and ethnicity-based conflict in contemporary left-wing thought) and their emphasis of the state as an organic unity of its subgroups, I don't think it's possible to consider it left-wing in any way. That view regarding the state is mostly shared by ideologies we consider right-wing.
>>
>>2986684

He was somewhat partisan but ended up right wing. Read Demons. Just because you are right wing doesn't mean you didn't realize how brutally poor many Russians were.
>>
>>2986394
It looks comfy, but by the 1900s and 1910s, population growth meant that land holdings for farmers were getting consistently smaller. Social unrest led to ethnic and religious tensions. Political dissidents could face exile or persistent harassment by authorities. In a lot of ways it was better than the USSR circa 1938, but it wasn't a paradise, especially if you were Jewish.
>>
>>2986475
I have relatives that visited St. Petersburg in the 1960s and 1970s and their description of the architecture was the opposite of this. A lot of antique buildings were apparently preserved.
>>
>>2986654
Fuck off fashy, you're just as bad as them.
>>
>>2986461
What is attractive to you about this?
And why can't you live like that now?

Oh fuck off. Commie blocks are the worst, I can easily get past them being extremely generic and boring (just like American suburbs) but they offer little to no privacy (you can literally hear your neighbours talking, taking a shit or doing anything else), almost no personalisation and very little space - which is the reason why, in Czech Republic, garden colonies became the replacement, which is just sad.

Serious though, how was Imperial Russia about religion?

One doesn't realize what all is wrong until he sees what could be better, south american tribes are happy too, yet they definitely aren't living "comfier" lives (if you want to talk about subjectivity, piss off, try to be slightly unhealthy there).
Again, depends to whom and where - for central Europe it was not, as it was enforced by the state in order to save resources and provide an efficient, not comfy way of life.
