But like... how bad was the Battle of Stalingrad?
>Marked by fierce close quarters combat and direct assaults on civilians by air raids, it is often regarded as one of the single largest (nearly 2.2 million personnel) and bloodiest (1.7–2 million wounded, killed or captured) battles in the history of warfare.

>how bad was the Battle of Stalingrad?
Depends on the phase.
The first phase was mostly city fighting, and that got pretty bad for a variety of factors. The Luftwaffe bombed the city to ruins, but their bombing failed to really prevent the city from being defensible. They could provide close support at times, but the Soviets found that by keeping close to German forces, they could prevent the Luftwaffe from providing direct support. The Luftwaffe ended up turning their attention to the tens of thousands of men being ferried into the city across the Volga. Volga shipping ended up being a regular target for Luftwaffe fighters and bombers, and a near constant stream of reinforcements across the river would ensure that the meat grinder would never really stop.
In the second phase, after the Soviet encirclement of the 6th Army, things got bad because the city fighting never really stopped, but the Germans were now encircled in the dead of winter and slowly starving. The Luftwaffe lacked the capacity to meet the 6th Arrmy's supply demands even if the VVS wasn't trying to run an air blockade, and the constant presence of Soviet fighters was taking its toll on German transports. Meanwhile, ground forces continued to put pressure on the 6th Army, and the 6th Army fought hard to retain their footholds in the city, as they were really the only defensible parts of their position.
This kind of makes me feel sick. Why would someone sell something like this?
Why is it only worth $60?
I don't understand at all. Even if it was awarded by a corrupt dictator its still a symbol of defending your home. Why would someone sell something like this like its fucking nothing.

You're forgetting all of the fighting going on in the open, both before the final approach to the city, and all along the river flanks for months afterwards.
People HUGELY overstate the amount of fighting that went on in "the battle of Stalingrad" that happened in or around the city limits itself.

After the capitalist restoration in 1991, living standards dramatically declined, especially for elderly people. $60 could feed you for a month in 90s Russia. Blame capitalism
I read that the average life expectancy of a soviet soldier was 24 hours.
Also close combat fighting can be brutal.
Germans were making advances like few meters a day, that just shows the ferocity of soviet defenders. For example there was the Grain Elevator which defended against Germans for a week, until they ran out of ammunition and water. When the Germans finally entered it, they only saw like 20 dead soviet soldiers, when they were expecting a few hundred at least. Now imagine that every house in Stalingrad was more or less like it.

Not just that, but everything else. Burger education intentionally stunts critical thinking, all to create a mindless race whose only passion is gluttonous consumption

Sure it does.

Almost everything you accomplished in space and rocket technology was due to european scientists.
With the big exception of Goddard, of course.

fyi those european scientists learned how 2 rocketship from Goddar.
