imagine a nation/settlement that is completely based on a synthetic language made in the lab by top linguists. would this society prosper more so then places with more organic traditional languages? According to relativistic language theory you are only your own understanding of your mother tongue. Theoretically, couldn't we manufacture a language that encourages work ethic, philosophical insight, and social cohesion while steering clear of ideas of conflict and war?

Didn't you read 1984.
Sure you can be a pleb and bash your wife over the head with the work wrench you stole form the factory, but you have no language to convince others to help you in the crime or revolt etc.

we make up words everyday tho, especially on the internet
what is there a super government watching everything?

Not OP, but In this scenario it would be illegal to come up with your own words because it would be a thought crime.
And you would be tortured until you never did it again, loved the party, and turn in your parents and children for doing it to so they could be reeducated.

think about the world "islamophobia" you cant honestly fucking tell me this word has not influenced society and got people to behave in certain ways. and thats only one word. I'm just taking the idea to its logical conclusion.

im talking about entirely new languages something so different that perhaps even logic works a bit differently
restriction of speech would improve cohesion drastically but it always has an adverse affect on the arts and sciences
I don't care much for art but a government that restricts the language would undoubtedly restrict other facets of life no?

i doubt it. relativistic language theory is just an interesting theory. and getting people to learn a new, synthetic language sound difficult as fuck. most people are too retarded to learn even spanish, let alone some complex inflectional language. I'd love to see a society speaking proto-indo-european, but obviously that's a larping fantasy.
