Have there been any other alpha males who occupied intellectual/academic positions in the 20th century other than based A.J. Ayer?

dawkins used to be , but sadly he changed with the times. Now science has been perverted by emotional liberalism instead of it being an independent force of truth

He was the Marx and Reagan was the Lenin

Chomsky pretty much destroyed him though, and made him look like a fool.

By alpha do you mean masculine or someone who shat all over other academics and conventional wisdom and knowledge?

And? Foucault did the same to Chomsky once. Everyone has their defeats

The sole fact that you use the term "alpha males" tells me you can't judge intellectuals

I meant it as a person who excelled in multiple frames of competition (dominance hierarchies, so to speak) alongside with beeing a prominent academic/intellectual authority.
For example Ayer was also on top in sports, social dynamics (access to top parties and fucking 9s), operating in secret service and also famed for his pedagogic skillls.
