I am not OP but I would also like to know some things.

Why do the ancient Egyptians, who were clearly far and away more advanced than the Sumerians, often get second play to the Sumerians? Meaning, they were both around about the same time and yet everyone's like, "oh the sumerians were first they developed writing first."

Also, what does that have to do with OP's question and then everyone seemingly fearful about "Mystery Babylon" and yet everyone seemingly loving the ancient Egyptians, historically speaking I mean.

>who were ancient egyptian priests?
Priests.

>they even lectured top greek scientists, philosophers and mathematicians and made them who they become.
That's actually an interesting thing: In the majority of cases, they did not. The Ancient Greeks looked at Egypt like we look at Ancient Greece. The Greek frequently attributed anything they wanted to seem profound to the Egyptians to give it an air of mysticism and impernance; an idea conjured up by the brilliant and learned minds of an ancient and permanent civilization. The myth of the phoenix is one of these. It's entirely Greek, and it spread outwards from the Greeks to the Egyptians. When Greek colonists hit Egypt, they saw the Egyptians knew about the phoenix and deduced that their original assumption was correct. Pythagoras, for example, clearly didn't learn anything in Egypt. Everything we know about him and his philosophy points to him being entirely homegrown.

>why did they stay anonymous?
Because most Egyptian priests were clerks and scribes only in it for a day job.

>bald and got no body hair?
The Egyptians thought hairlessness was a sign of purity. The upper class of Egyptian society had slaves whose sole job was to pluck body hair with little tweezers.

>why are they holding ankh and making a weird hand gesture?
Religious iconography. Why does Jesus make those weird hand gestures? To give the artist something to do with the hands and to display some religious sign.

Sumer is, for one, older than Egypt. For two, Egypt didn't actually produce a whole lot. Much of our knowledge of Egypt is either from Greco-Roman sources, Egyptian funerary texts, or state funded monumental hieroglyphics (essentially propaganda). We do not, for example, have any Egyptian philosophy. Plenty of theology, but no philosophy.

We have no direct writings from Pythagoras, but the exegetic concordance between Pythagorean doctrines and Egyptian cosmology can certainly be maintained, suggesting a dialogue. Algis Uzdavinys' works are perhaps the most developed of such a thesis.

Erik Hornung disagrees, can't find the e-book version of pic related. But take a look if you can. Thales, Pythagoras etc all learnt what they learnt from Ancient Egyptian priests.

And Hornung btw is a great Egyptologist.

any reasons of that? why did they think like that? also pharaohs had no body hair but they had hairs.
