I'm extremely serious about this question, so here me out.

What if in 1941, when Georgy Zhukov was appointed as commander of the Leningrad Front, instead he turned into a snake?

In this scenario: in that winter day, Stalin doesn't appoint Zhukov as commander of the Leningrad Front. Zhukov is sitting in his office alone, when suddenly he feels off.

Always ready with a pen, he documents his experience:

>his skin discolors
>it becomes rougher
>his tongue forks
>eyes goes black, it becomes hard to write
>legs shrink into body
>arms shrink into bodies, Zhukov can no longer write

The rest of the transformation takes place; what was once a human of normal stature is now a slender creature of significant girth.

This scenario assumes that Zhukonda retains his intelligence. What happens next? The first obstacle would be him to survive until his secretary or guards found him. Then the next challenge is convincing them who he is. Best case is that he does, but what about everyone else? Is he able to continue his job? How is he treated by peers, the general public, and enemies?

The quote makes perfect sense. Zhukov spoke about Soviet practical experience with Eisenhower, which showed that a fast attack through a minefield usually caused less casualties and provided better results than any attempt to move through it slowly while clearing the mines. Why? Two reasons. First one is that extensive minefields were usually placed to cover weaker parts of the defensive positions which means that a quick assault would achieve the results before enemy reinforcements arrive. The second is artillery and mortars. The more time your units spend on the minefield trying to move through it the more time the enemy artillery have to murder them in the open. This was not a problem the Americans were familiar with as they were so much better equipped than literally every other army in the conflict that they could almost always silence German artillery with quick and efficient counter-battery fire.
