Because society is an artificial construction made up of many people you don't give a fuck about and are begrudgingly forced to cooperate with and pay taxes to and the government that represents it doesn't give a fuck about you either and would gladly fuck you over it had the chance.

Because Americans value personal liberty more than any other people on the planet. Something I've found in talking with people from other cultures is they fundamentally don't respect freedom and don't have a real concept of freedom. I tried talking to this french guy once about freedom of speech and he actually didn't understand that rights don't come from the state. He kept talking about it as something guaranteed or given to him by his government. Really sad.

Parts of our country maybe. If you go by state, most of the USA is far better off than Europe. We just have a few problem areas that drag our total down. Like if we were to lump in all those eastern european hellholes with the rest of Europe and see how the numbers shake out. Probably more even that way, but I'd stlil wager on Europe pulling ahead cause they don't have massive ghettos filled with violent blacks murdering each other in numbers you'd normally see in war zones.

Doesn't really affect me though, my state has a black population of less than 2% and consequently our crime and poverty rates are both lower than pretty much any country in Europe.

Americans are delusional, what's new? They think they're free, but their government reminds me of a third-world country with its corruption and cronyism. Just look at the last election, having to decide between Trump and Clinton, and calling it democracy... fucking delusional. And I don't even need to get into the NSA, CIA, and FBI spying on citizens who did nothing.

As for their belief in the free market, that's an even bigger joke. There is no truly free market in the US. Not to mention the completely brainwashed hatred of anything socialist, without realising that in effect, the US government already enacts certain socialist policies. Without them there would be an even greater divide between rich and poor, and I would bet all my savings on a new civil war eventually happening.

Even funnier is the amount of uneducated poor people who somehow think they'll become rich someday.
