Do you notice that nowadays people use the politically correct term "Stalinist", e.g. "Stalinist regimes", instead of just using "Communist regimes" and so on, in the academia? How come?
>>
The USSR under Stalin was a very different place to the USSR after Stalin.
>>
Probably because they're referring to Stalinist regimes and not communist in general.

Oh, sorry, I meant "cuz le CULTURAL MARCISM REEEE XXXXDDDDD"

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Its called stalinist like how one would refer to Periclean Athens or Napoleonic France, it has nothing to do with PC and muh cultural marxists.
>>

He's right, though, I no defender of Gommunism (or political correctness for that matter) but it isn't appropriate to neuter the English language of all nuance just because you are butthurt about political correctness.

There is a difference between Stalinism and (for example) the policies of modern day China or the USSR under Krushchev or even Lenin.
>>
>>2829318
it has nothing to do with political correctness, the USSR under Stalin was particularly totalitarian and more rigid in its control of small scale private enterprise or land ownership compared to before and after. There's nothing wrong with the distinction.

Probably because Stalinism refers to a specific mode of government. The USSR before Stalin was different, the USSR after Stalin was different, and basically every communist country after Stalin wound up abandoning his method of government (aside from North Korea and Albania).
>>
are you mentally challenged? do you think all communist governments are identical to stalin's?

Stalinist as in authoritarian.

North Korea went on to officially abandon Communism. North Korea is Nazi-style national-socialist at this point, complete with racial purity policies.
>>

Are you suggesting that the Democrats, the US political party worship Stalin, which is bizarre?

Or are you claiming that everyone that believes in democracy is a Stalinist, which is beyond insane?
>>
>>2829318
Because the modern day liberal agenda is literally communist in the truest sense but they don't want the general public to conflate communism with the well documented horrors of Stalin so it's a form of deception on their end.

Stalinism is a subsect of communism. E.g Mao was a Stalinist but Castro or Tito were not. It's a sect like idk Trotskyists, left communism, Marxism leninism, anarcho communism etc

Mao is a Maoist.

Stalinist has a focus on industry, and removes opponents by secret police/official purges.

Mao focused on the peasantry, and removes opponents by public denouncements and demagoguery.

Cult of personality is shared.
>>
can /pol/ stop making everything about American politics? It's always "leftist this leftist that" when our ideologies in the US are both moderate liberal capitalists; there are no extremes here and what you consider "left" in the US would be considered "right" in an actual left country. Furthermore what Democrats consider "right wing" is actually just slightly right leaning moderate.

Now that you understand all that, please stop shoving literally the entirety of history through your tiny lense of American ideology that only sees the middle of a vast spectrum. You look so fucking stupid saying "leftist" on a history board when talking about classical liberals, this isn't /pol/ and your vocabulary is shit

All Maoists are Stalinists but not all Stalinists are Maoists.

All Stalinists are Leninists but not all Leninists are Stalinists.

All Leninists are Marxists but not all Marxists are Leninists.

All Marxists are socialists but not all socialists are Marxists.

"Stalinist" isn't a politically correct term. It was coined by Stalin's own disciples (Lazar Kaganovich) in the 1930s as a way to overblow Stalin's contributions to the formation of the USSR

Stalinism itself is used to refer to a system of communist government and allegiance, mainly to differentiate it from conventional marxist-leninism (Post-Stalin USSR/Warsaw Pact, Vietnam, Cuba, etc.) Titoism (Yugoslavia), and Maoist (China, Albania, Cambodia). North Korea's Juche is yet another different type of communist regime, though all 4 can be called marxist and all 4 are interrelated (i.e. Mao was a stalinist until the Sino-Soviet split).

Stalinism itself was strict totalitarian control, a vast police state, and a cult of personality around a central leader with a blend of nationalism, militarism, and emphasis on industrialization. Maosim is extremely similar but with an emphasis on rural/peasantry as the focus of the revolution and treating urban-dwellers and everything associated with it as bourgeoisie on top of extreme isolationism. In truth both movements can only be differentiated if they were allied to Moscow to Beijing (i.e. Barre's Somalia was probably more maoist, yet was allied with the USSR for a time)

Thus it has nothing to do with political correctness, it has to do with system of governance in the post-Khrushchev era and later on who was allied to who in the Sino-Soviet split.

But of course you're just a /pol/beard looking to get a certain narrative so I'm wasting my time.
