That isn't brainwashing it's human nature. Humans like most animals evolved in a world of scarcity and thus we instinctively hoard resources and look for ways to one-up the people who are competing with us for those resources, even if in reality there is no reason to compete.

And that is ultimately why your idea is retarded. You're basically saying that socialism works if it's done right, which is in itself redundant, but you're also failing to appreciate that the reason why full-scale socialism has always failed and will always full is because it only takes a single person with influence to fuck the whole thing up.

The same traits that give people the skills to influence others and become leaders/head of states etc are also the traits that lead to people in power becoming corrupt and abusing the system.
