Why butthurt towards Russia turned into open hate towards russia?
Is because of nato and the fact they can hide behind big brother nato if they go to far?
Gee, I don't know, maybe because they vassalized their countries under a strict communist regime and forced various dictatorships throughout Eastern Europe? Oh, and imperialism.
>>2819777
Because they no longer live under an oppressive communist regime and can actually manifest themselves towards the authoritarianism of their big neighbor and his crazy ex-KGB member president.
>>2819777
is there even a neighbor of russia that doesn't hate it?
>>2819796
>>2819802
Belarus, for some reason. They're like their cockslaves.
>>2819805
Ah yes. Imperialism is 100% justifiable if the imperialists build some stuff for them. Ignore all the lives they took in turn and the oppression they caused. I've never heard this argument before.
It's funny how this "butthurt belt" was occupied for a generation by the most brutal dictatorship in history led by Russians.
>>2819805
>>2819814
>>2819822
The most pathetic is when you try to kill someone and then cry about oppression when you failed
>>2819805
Look at the economic differences between East and West Germany. One side was under an oppressive Russian dictatorship, and the other one had free Western institutions.
>>2819830
There's just OP?
>>2819777
>not including Greco-FYROM eternal saltlands in the Butthurt Belt

So Russia heroically invaded and occupied half of Europe, because Germans killed Jews?
Jesus, Russians and their /pol/ lackeys really have an Orwellian way of thinking.
>>2819860
>Germans killed Jews
Yea, you don't talk about proud collaborators that threw their neighbors into ovens to appease the new masters and then marched alongside new aryan friends deep into the soviet land
>>2819891
Some Poles and other Eastern Europeans surely did commit atrocities, but how is that an excuse?
>>2819849
The picture is the wrong way around, though.
ODEG stands for Ostdeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft.
>>2819843
>implying i larp as a nazi or deny the holocaust
you are fucking pathetic you know, go back to /leftypol/ if you want to wank with your autistic circlejerking community of Holodomor denial and USSR war crimes praise.

>>2819891
>marched alongside new aryan friends deep into the soviet land
Not to mentioned that the Soviets had invaded Poland in the 1920's and that they invaded them again 1939.
I can see why this might have led some Poles to join the axis in the fight against Bolshevism.
>>2819909
and btw, Polish death camps are just tin-foil tier conspiracy made by uninformed people.

Are you saying that they couldn't build those schools, hospitals and libraries on their own?
Maybe cities would actually look pretty instead of depressing commie blocks everywhere.
Pic related, Riga in 1930's.

>"d00d wtf why do they hate us lmao ungrateful"
theres a reason why Soviet memorials get destroyed, defaced and taken down every week
maybe if you didnt treat people like shit in the name of revenge like savages and instead acted like reasonable human beings they'd be more inclined to stay with you

>Why butthurt towards Russia turned into open hate towards russia?
because life under Russia was shit
>Is because of nato and the fact they can hide behind big brother nato if they go to far?
no it's because theyre happy now since they can make more than $18 a month and Russia gets asshurt when their former subjects are better off than they are
not that hard to understand, Boris

Those are deluded old people and brainwashed proles.
>Its the Communists fault eastern Europe troubles.
Or maybe its their own damn faults. Compare eastern Germany to Poland. Both former communist, but one is way more successful than the other.
>russians acting like aggressive subhumans against the people of eastern europe
>those people start hating russia
>russians idiots come up with "haha they're just butthurt"
Pathetic.

>>2820576
Romanians litterally played this clip for weeks on end. They couldn't get enough of it. That kind of hate doesn't just come from nowhere,
Anyone have a link of that documentary where the guy who shot them says he has no remorse what so ever? I remember something about him intentionally shooting for the knees and the groin first
>>2820561
this desu
>>2820824
That sounds like bullshit.
Typically, there is only one soldier with live ammo in an execution squad and they don't know who that is.
>>2820459
And now compare Eastern Germany to Western Germany. Or North Korea to South Korea.
>>2820857
It wasn't a formal execution, it was part of a coup and in the middle of chaos. Wasn't the trial just some random captain who basically said guilty, shoot em
>>2820857
He talks about that too. He says the rest were young and they hesitated so he had time to see that he was the one with live ammo. At least that's how I remember it. I only saw a small youtube clip that was posted here. I never found out what the documentary is called
>>2820178

I've met plenty of young people as well as old ones in Romania, Ukraine, Poland and ex-Yugoslavia who regrets the fall of communism.
>the old people are just romanticizing their youth
>the young people didn't live through and is romanticizing the past
>only I know how it really was during that time and after, in that country that I've probably only read about
>>2819777
Why is Slovakia included? We aren't butthurt about Russia, we actually like them.
>>2820863
That's not the point, though.
You are assuming eastern Europe would be as successful as western Europe if it wasn't for communism. That is a blatantly false assumption. If it wasn't for communism, eastern Europe would be third-world tier rather than 2nd world tier.
>>2820043
Not him, but I imagine the argument is that the Union's resources would assist in boosting infrastructure.
But this is the USSR we're talking about.
Without the USSR, eastern europeans would have been driven into Siberia by Hitler...

I think something similar would be the US and South America. So basically the US helped build up these countries to a degree but also slaughters the civilians too. A lot of these countries break away from US control but are shit countries because their old master doesn't want to treat them as equal.

>almost every building was leveled, almost all farmland was turned into a series of craters
And yet its still a mystery why they became a shithole.
>>2822652
Similar arguments can be made for Germany and Japan, and yet they are two wealthy and successful states now.
>>2822692
But the US didn't spend millions rebuilding North Korean infrastructure the same way they did with Germany and Japan
>>2821231
How the hell can young people regret the fall of communism? They have no ideea what they are talking about. It's just like those idiots who say they wished they lived in the Roman Empire or other dumb shit like that.
Those revolutions didn't start because communism was nice and people were happy. It takes a lot of shit to provoke that kind of reaction from such a large number of people especially from a people that's used to taking shit from everyone like the romanians.
>>2822755
Not a valid excuse as North Korea had Soviet and Communist Chinese support.
>>2819777
Many anons will argue that various historical injustices lay at the root of this anti Russian nationalist reflex. But this can be easily shown to be incorrect. Just look at how Poland views Germany, a country which committed atrocities to the Polish population which make Poland under Soviet Hegemony look comfy.
The true reason is what I would call, Inter-Slavic Inferiority Complexes.
The countries within the butthurt belt do not hate Russia for its horrors, they hate it for its glory. They hate the fact that for centuries, they played second, or rather third, fiddle to Russia. They saw their empires returned to vassal states, and their place in history taken by Russians. Of all the achievements we remember the Slavic world for, we remember mostly Russians or Russia.
By focussing on atrocities like the Katyn Massacre, or by rewriting history of the Soviet Famine of the 30s, countries like Poland or Ukraine are working together to de-legitimize Russian and/or Soviet history. Even the victory of the Red Army is being de-emphasized in Ukraine, which to most observers feels ridiculous. But, if you think about it, the victory over Nazi Germany was the most important event that brought the nations of the Soviet Union together. And so, even in Ukraine, a country that suffered like few others under the Nazi Occupation, a Ribbon of Saint George is considered politically incorrect.
>>2823902
ivan plz
>>2823902
Sounds correct.
I would only argue that the Ribbon of Saint George being considered politically incorrect and the discourse around ww2 is also due to the Russian regime trying to politicize and monopolize the victory and its symbols to serve as unifying factor in Russian nationalism & patriotism including in it's aggressive propaganda wars.
Also, the other slavic countries fear of being drown by force into the Russian sphere of influence is justified by Russian self view of itself as a pan Slavic empire. They do not feel the same danger from Germany, because te euro-sphere treats them as inferior entities that need to prove their worth to join some club, and this paradoxically less threatening. We all want to be in reach clubs that don't let us in easily and not in poor organizations who try to enroll us by force.
>>2823897
Not nearly to the same degree as the Marshall Plan.
>>2822652
Except that North Korea had a much higher living standard than South Korea in the 60s and 70s. Your argument is invalid.
>>2824000
This I did ignore. Russia is not a passive factor in this story and they too politicize symbols and history. Russia still retains sort of an imperialistic reflex. But at the same time I know their historians are very conscious of the black pages in their history. Even the general public is not oblivious to this, they just want to be proud of their history as well.
But historiography in Eastern Europe can be much more nationalistic and romanticized. Even countries which were part of the Soviet Union from the start try to shift the blame for the whole era completely to Russia. While imagining for themselves an ethnic nationalist history which skips the socialist era completely. After cherry picking the great scientists and composers from the Soviet Union which happened to have their ethnicity.
>>2821289
If it wasn't for Stalin, Marshall Plan would help commie block too.
>>2821289
Pfft.
Soviet (forced) allies were 2nd world, if given opportunity most of them would jump to 1st world immediately.
>>2821289
Nice delusions.
Except for the part where Baltic states and the rest of Eastern Europe was doing way better than Soviet Union before the forced occupation.
>>2821289
Second world literally means it is a communist nation. First world means it is a capitalist nation. Third world means it is not advanced enough to be either.
Please stop misusing these terms.
3rd world are counties unaffiliated with USA or Soviet Union.
Now it changed it's meaning, term second world is almost never used.
>>2824122
Wasn't China still considered second world even after it dumped the USSR in favor of the USA?
>>2824135
It was controversial, some some said that it was second, others that it was third. A few brave ones suggested that it would join first soon.
Then Tienanmen happened.
>>2819805
no, USSR only made Eastern European economies worse
>>2820875
I actually pointed UkraineXPoland (Poland and Ukraine were comparable after the fall of iron curtain, but Polan stayed in EU and Ukraine in Russian SoI) as example that it's not just communism.
>>2824114
Modern definition is
Service based economy
Industry based economy
Agriculture based economy
>>2824612
>one country embraces westernisation and manages to get its shit together somewhat
>the other remains in post communist hell
It's all communism, the reason post-socialist countries are fucked up are as follows
1. Communism raped their industry & culture
2. After the fall of the regime, everything gets stolen by thugs connected to influential party members & intelligence agencies
Both 1 & 2 are commie fault
