Is there something like Duolingo for Latin?

I took a couple years of Latin in High School, but I've pretty much forgotten it all by now. All remember is no soft Cs and Vs are Ws

Also i, isti, it, imus, istis, erunt

You should forget it. Modern Latin has those features

Okay, what book?

You're right. Wouldn't want to sound silly talking to native Latin speakers

What kinda of language is Greek?

Is it 'Romancy' i.e. subjects on the end of verbs?

Or is an entirely different?

I was so disappointed when I found out 'veni vidi vici' was pronounced 'weeny widdy wicky'

It's the same dissappointment I felt when I found out Scaevola probably didn't exist and that Cincinnatus wasn't as pure as I thought.

I just wanted a role model, /his/

I'm just going to throw Wheelock's out there.
I'm not sure it's anywhere near the best book, but it's readily available, and nobody else in the thread has posted anything even remotely helpful..

Perhaps unrelated, but is there a recommended book for learning Classical Greek?

It's Hellenic, and a member of the Indo-Euopean languages, like Latin.

It does have inflections on the end of verbs, like Latin. Pretty much all the Indo-European languages have this.
>>

It's more like 'weighny weedy weeky'. The vowels of the first syllables are lengthened in these verbs in the perfect tense.

It wasn't pronounced like that, V and U sometimes had the same character "V" because it was easier to write, but it was pronounced as . "B". Proof of this is that all the romance languages, in those 3 verbs "veni, vidi, vici" are pronounced as "b" (per example in spanish, vine, vi, vencí" not "uine, ui, uencí"

If one were familiar with Romance languages, would they be able to pick up Greek rather easily?

V made the W sound though. Venare, videre, and vincere all implore the traditional sense of the letter V, making a "W" sound.
Pic related: the modern reconstruction that's spoken in church uses a "V" sound as it would in English.
