Because the actual truth is that communism cannot actually be attempted as it is contrary to how human beings actually work in large societies. The closest thing to actual communism is stone age hunter gatherer societies which are both not all that great societies to actually live in and not a way of living that is sustainable on a planet with billions of inhabitants.

Communism can't work because it requires a superabundance and that cannot occur due to scarcity being something we can't overcome. This means that any attempts will fail and it will never happen.
