Why do people justify terrible people on this board in the face of overwhelming evidence that they were shitty?

Do they think that by worshiping Hitler, denying the Holocaust, or praising Saddam Hussein, Joseph Stalin, etc. that they'll somehow make it to that level of power themselves?

It's pathetic.

Stalin was a "Great man" of history, he did terrible things but also achieved great things.

One can praise marius without being a fan of his 7th consulship era.
>>
Still europeans are inferior to south-amerindians.
>>
>>2787140
> achieved great things
Like helping Ukraine on that diet they were struggling with.
>>
>Hitler
>loved by his people
>left country a divided war-torn state with uncertain future

>Stalin
>hated by his people
>left country a fucking industrial superpower that is poised to conquer the world

Childhood is loving Hitler. Adulthood is realizing Stalin made more sense.
>>
>>2787181
Won WW2, industrialised the the country
>>
>>2787137
Dont get so upset about this. If they actually believe any of the shit they spew then they are never going to have a balanced understanding of anything, and for that you should pity them.
>>
>>2787461
Common sense is realizing that both were egotistical maniacs who enslaved their people in order to serve their personal goals.
>>
>>2787487
only Stalin was an egotistical maniac and he's bullshit made Russia powerful at the end

Hitler was a partisan stooge and fucked Germany for decades
>>
>>2787497
They were both authoritarian dictators who used their political parties as muscle to whip their population into line.

Hitler turned germany from a dump into a powerhouse and then blew it all on trying to grasp too much at one time. He had complete and solo control of his party until his bitter end.

Stalin bloodied Russia for a decade until its economy was nearly on par with the west and then almost blew it by destroying his own military and political cadres out of paranoia. Its sheer luck that Hitler made enough mistakes for the soviets to survive.
>>
>>2787181
Stalin was an awful human being but there's a decent argument that anyone less ruthless would've folded to the Germans under Hitler. Even Stalin was terrified of the Germans at the time.
>>
this thread REEKS of spooks
>>
>>2787782
Firstly I bet you haven't even read Stirner, secondly Hitler was was evil and that isn't a spook which you would understand if you've read the ego.
>>2787461
Implying wasn't hugely popular and that there wasn't a huge cult of personality around him. Some hated him and many loved him, gave him credit for successes and blamed "advisers" for bad policies in the Tsarist tradition
>>
>>2787975
*Implying Stalin.
>>
>>2787975
after his death maybe but before his death I doubt it
>>

There was a famine affecting the whole of the USSR that year. Measures were taken to relieve it, but Ukrainian nationalists and exiles, inspired by Goebbels' anti-communist rants, portrayed it as a genocide.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_famine_of_1932%E2%80%9333
http://www.artukraine.com/famineart/tauger.htm

Mark Tauger is pretty much the world expert on the famine and he counters all the cries of genocide excellently

>>
>>2787996
Don't have time rn, but you can find out how for example peasants wrote to Stalin saying Glorious leader etc etc. and he was respected for winning WW2 as well.
>>2788000
It wasn't a genocide but it was a manmade famine and a lack of caring about the deaths.
>>

>hitler
>loved by his people

Friendly reminder that Hitler never got more than 42% in elections even though he was literally parolling the streets with gangs of thugs that were ordered to kill all tankies.

Are you American? Just curious
>>
>>2787543

>hitler turned Germany into a powerhouse meme

This is wrong. All of the jobs created were in arms manufacturing, the economy would have crashed even if Ger won the war. This is an outdated meme and you should read a book.
>>
>>2788118
>Friendly reminder that Hitler never got more than 42% in elections even though he was literally parolling the streets with gangs of thugs that were ordered to kill all tankies.
The March 1933 election was a fraud
July 1932 was the peak of the NSDAP vote under free conditions, with 37.27%
>>
>>2788134

This is correct and, if anything, supports my point.
>>
>>2787137
I unironically miss Saddam and his pre-2001 Ba'ath government.

Far superior to the fucking shithole that the Middle East has turned into, and if you disagree, then you're an idiot.

no. Hitler only became more and more popular.

Proofs? Nostalgia of senile electricians doesn't count as proofs.

>>

Which is why the Soviets and allies had the need to "Denazify" Germany after the war. I love how kikefags demand proof for everything. How about you provide proof for your claims?

>>
>>2788504
Denazification was more about people in higher-level administration (government, police, judiciary, universities, industry, etc) than purging the entire citizenry. Soviets were more 'meh, gulag or shoot 'em all'.

Western Allies gave up when they realized that they couldn't put *everyone* in prison for a decade or two. I mean, there were plenty of full on Nazi kool-aid drinkers, but as many or more were just opportunistic normalfags. That's totalitarianism for you... under Nazi rule, you COULDN'T go past a certain career point without joining the party. So many did just that.

Then the Cold War ramped up.

Lots of pretty horrible people got away with literal murder with little more than a slap on the wrist, and there were plenty of former committed Nazis in civil and private administration until the 1980s or so when they were mostly by then retired.
>>
>>2787461
Only Soviet industries that were working were Weapons ones, since USSR was giving guns away to anyone leaning left.

If not for the export of CRUDE oil, Soviet Union would have collapsed much sooner
>>
Studying/being interested in something =/= supporting, agreeing or wishing to be part of it

Nazism was retarded.
Their uniforms were neato.

British were cucks in WW2.
Glad they didn't lose though.

Ireland are cool.
The IRA march is silly looking and De Valera was a faggot.

Move on, OP.

Stalin apologists are the worst

>>2788233
The Germans' policy in the East was horrid and indefensible, whatever your opinion on Russians may be.
>>
>>2787137
I fail to see anything wrong about Saddam other than fucking up the Iran-Iraq war. He built Iraq from the grounds up when it was an Afghanistan tier shithole before him, provided decent living standards, protected Christians and BTFO the Kurdish shitters. Economy only started going down the toilet after the US slapped a million sanctions on Iraq.
>>
>>2787137
You are correct in pointing out that worshiping great men doesn't make you a great man. Unfortunately, you forgot that refusing to acknowledge the accomplishments of evil men doesn't make you a good person.
>>
>>2788724
Uh no. A huge brainwashing propaganda campaign was imposed on the German people to make them feel ashamed of themselves. They also stuff the made up story of the holocaust down their throats.
>>
There is nothing more fun than the gay little formality of having to say "Um, btw, I h8 them!!!!" when discussing historical figures just to make sure pants-shitters like OP don't freak out and cry when you say something about the intelligence of somebody like Stalin or Hitler

>Stalin's decision not to initiate any sort of popular front ideology until Hitler was already a powerful entity is honestly a genius move and while it eventually lead to WWII, it lead to a WWII where the democratic superpowers actually fought on the side of the communists to destroy fascism, instead of with the fascists to save capitalism, as they may have if Stalin had managed to subvert Germany and make it Communist... oh and um, uh, he's, uh, evil cause of the, uh, Ukrainians and getting rid of people he thought were toxic to the party
>>
People always read into other people's statements too much.

If you say something negative about hitler or stalin or anyone, someone will read into it that "You're just following the narrative the media puts out" and attempt to correct you by telling you hitler or stalin or whoever wasn't a cartoon villain and had good intentions/accomplished some positive things/etc.

Alternatively, if someone speaks positively about hitler or stalin or whoever in even the smallest regard, other people will read into that "This /pol/tard fascist only knows history from indoctrination" and attempt to either 'reveal' you or insist that you shouldn't portray X figure as good in any way or else you're helping some demographic they dont like.

In any case, I think most people would agree that historical figures are not black and white, and that even the most horrible of tyrants and the saintliest of kings were human at least, and could be seen in different ways by people in different circumstances at the time. The issue is that people jump down each others' throats starting arguments about what a poster "is implied to believe" without once stopping to clarify.
>>
>>2791306
The other thing is that posters like OP assume an objective morality exists, which is just asking to get your lunch money stolen.

People who believe there can be "an objectively shitty person" wear glasses, don't work out, and think it's okay to go out in public with a Zelda or Stephen Universe shirt on.

Oh, so that's why the Germans kept fighting while boys and old men were being drafted? Why the Rechstag was defended until Hitler's death? Because he was unpopular? Unpopular people get lynched, like Mussolini
>>
>>2788127
America pulled out of the Great Depression the same way, was our economy a fluke?
>>
>>2792024
Because they didn't want to be killed and raped by the soviets.
>>
>>2792027
By supplying the Allies and Soviets with arms through the Lend Lease Act. America and the rest of the world wouldn't have had pulled out of the great depression if it weren't for England and France (and eventually the rest of the world) declaring war on Germany.
>>
>>2787137
>terrible people

It's all relative
>>
>>2787461
Because Germany lost the war. Stalin killed his own people by millions.
