Why do plebs love him so much?
(Don't mention Sertorius in his hearing, He gets rather cranky)

Is that so? I hear in the forums that Pompey is out of touch with the plebeians. Caesar, his co-consul, is in much higher standing. But don't mind me - I'm nobody important. No agenda, just passing through...

Pontus borders the Black Sea and Armenia was a pivotal player in the conflict.
You now remember that Mithridates VI was a Persian.

Pompey got the title Magnus as a joke for much of a pompous faggot he was, before immediately proceeding to win a massive series of victories over the most developed and technological advanced foes Rome would ever face. He was immensely rich, generous, and if Caesar hadn't defeated him he'd probably be remembered as a great general, rather than "That guy with a weird name who got beat by Caesar."
Plebeians didn't love him as much as Caesar, but he was hardly stingy, and that many triumphs, festivals, victories and public donatives got him somewhere, and he ended up as something as a tragic hero, popular enough in post-war literature written by remaining republicans to have a relatively glowing legacy left behind him.
Pompey was the Steve Wozniak to Caesar's Steve Jobs.

His family was a mix of Persian and Greek. Mithridates himself was in fact half-Persian and half-Greek.
