Lend lease only happened because of Churchill's persuasion, Roosevelt had a hard on for Britain. Roosevelt did lend lease for the "arsenal of democracy", if it was purely a localised German-Soviet War without British involvement, Roosevelt would have no reason to try to save Stalin, except maybe to ensure a detente between Germany and Russia, to ensure neither one overwhelmed the other and got too powerful.
