Why would anyone wear this helmet?
>can't see fuck all
>hot as fuck
>the top is flat so it's easy to break your neck
what sort of retard even came up with the flat top idea when most helmets were oval?

Its the easiest shape to transform pic related into a helmet
>>2761182
Because God wills it.
It offers a lot of protection and it's easier to make. It was phased out pretty quickly for the reasons you mentioned.

I agree. Pic related is what they could have gone with. A Maratha soldier helmet.
The helmets were light as fuck, but they offered better protection with a full turban around them they and didn't turn into an oven in the sun. 10/10 design desu

>Persian helmet with curved top and less protection

>Persian
You mean Turkic?
Not to mention that apart from the pointy top, the design is completely different around the face.

They were useful against slashing swords. No way it could withstand a blow from a blunt weapon.

They weren't really head on fighters (that's more of a Sikh thing). If they were around long enough for an enemy solider to decide that a blunt weapon would be much more effective, then they were probably doing their job wrong, because their main strategy was to quickly attack, cause confusion/damage and then quickly withdraw before the enemy could regroup (all of which was set by careful planning and intelligence).
Everything from their armor to their blades (very sharp tho) were light.

The flat top did go out of style because you're right, it's not good protection.
Slave soldiers would wear it so kings could rest their drinks on top of the slaves head during battle.

No but it's very much in his style to pull something out of his ass, spread misinformation then his retarded fanbase spreads it even further creating a new age of historical misconceptions.
