Consequentialism is pretty dominant in contemporary western philosophy, so I would recommend this book by Samuel Scheffler to get an idea about how contemporary moral philosophy looks like and where the discussion is heading.

anyway I respect him for being consistent in his views, he doesn't even want to be pro abortion but is logically forced to be due to his other positions.
