If you read the paper, they're much more cautious about those conclusions. Also Rome had contact with various semi-East Asian populations all the way to China so there's no need to posit such long-distance movement based on that.

On the other hand, they found other skeletons that most likely came from Roman North Africa and the Near East and similar findings have been confirmed by DNA extracted from other skellies.
