Is Communism just a secular replacement for Christianity?
Fully-automated luxury communism where robots do everything for you and everyone is at peace seems like a earthly replacement of Heaven. Compare this to mainstream capitalism where there's no real end-goal, it's just a way of managing society.
Also, see the weird reverence of the Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Che etc. that you see from these people. Capitalists don't worship Steve Jobs, Adam Smith, Murray Rothbard.
Also it may be anecdotal, but more than one of the Communists that I know in real life were raised were in a very Christian household but fell out of the faith as they got older.
