How did the british "empire" lose against a few revolting peasants?

they were allied to France and Spain
The same reason the american "empire" lose against a few revolting peasants in Vietnam: unclear goals and internal political turmoil.
Britain was able to occupy most of the major port cities but unable to enforce control of the rural areas. The Continental army sought support from France, and was able to show their viability with a decisive victory at Saratoga, which persuaded France and Spain to enter the war (not in support of the Revolution's ideals, but to undercut Britain)

Benjamin Franklin was not human.

They only stopped because the war was getting too expensive.
Well the peasants ran to France for help, and the Brits got tired of paying for it.

>be Arnold
>save the revolution
>betray the revolution shortly after because they didn't pay you fast enough
>end up losing with your new masters because of the French support won by the battle you turned into a victory
what an absolute retard. Would have probably won't the presidency after Washington if he played his cards right instead he's history's most foolish turncoat
