Are we currently living in the most uncertains times of the last 2000 years but due to technology people can't see it ?

Some arguments :

-Desertification of the country side, 85% of humans in the western world now live in huge cities.

-govs let huge paralleles societies with differents sets of ethics and values prosper in suburbs and cities, usually way poorer.

-political polarization due to more and more compartimenzed news informations.

-Society as a whole have less and less a common vision of history and the futur, nations can't run in the long run on self-hatred or ressentiment.

-these huges megalopolis are time bombs in a case of major natural disaster or fucked up. I can't imagine a city of the size of NY or London running an entire week without power and making it without scratchs.

Our biology is ancient, our institutions medieval, and our technology god like.
>>
You have a good point the biggest flaw of the west is having democratic institutions who run like centuries ago, unable to make quick decisions or face new challenges.

This is anxiety
>>
You mean OP has anxiety ?
>>
People can see it.

We're certainly entering an entirely new historical epoch, so yeah, it's pretty uncertain what the world will be like 100 years from now.

No. 19th century and first half of 20th century were way worse. Our times are relatively peaceful and stable.
Those were uncertain times, rapid industrialization, new huge mass movements wanting to reshape society and create a new man, new theories like evolution, atheism becoming popular, millions of people moving to cities looking for work, the destruction of traditional rural community.

And we don't even have revolutionaries and even our 'fascists' are not planning to destroy democracy.

>govs let huge paralleles societies with differents sets of ethics and values prosper in suburbs and cities, usually way poorer.
You could argue with any of your points, but this has to be the dumbest. Do you really believe ancient and medieval European governments presided over more cohesive and equal populations?

>implying there aren't enormous powder kegs just sitting below the surface
>implying that humans won't sperg out when they blow up
>implying climate change isn't going to fuck up humanity in a huge way

Food and water shortages? Check.
Mass migrations? Check.
Endless wildfires? Check.
Storms powerful enough to majorly fuck up urban centers? Check.

These realities are mere decades away. We're only at the beginning of the buttfucking. You have to be blind or flat-out retarded to think the 21st century isn't going to be worse than 1800-1950. Like...come on, man. Mentally prepare yourself already.

>atheism becoming popular
That's still going on, mate.
>>
>>2721866
At least half the things you mentioned are still ongoing plus we've added mass computing which has shaken everything up. Our society is still changing as fast as it has in the past hundred years. The industrial revolution has continued with the information revolution through the industrialization of information processing. Who knows what the future may hold? Predicting society and technology even 30 years out is nigh impossible.
