reminder that Mosley was giving speeches to crowds of 20,000.. 30,000... 100,000 between 1936-1940 with his "stop the war" movement. In 1941 he was arrested under 18b by orders of the Home Secretary, who had the power to detain any man without warrant, or trial, or right of defense indefinitely, NOT because Mosley was a traitor or a nazi spy, but simply because Mosley and the peace movement staged mass rallies pressuring the government to negotiate peace with Germany in 1940. So Mosley was thrown into jail on the state's whim for four years simply for seeking peace.

The more I read about that war the more I'm vexed... There's a rather eerie video of Churchill reciting Swift's "We are God's Chosen Few" floating around somewhere on the internet.

Mosley was a political fool, but a man of impeccable character with deep love of the people of his country unlike that despicable boor, Churchill.
