I watched the first couple of episodes and I thought it was complete trash.
>Historically innacurate props
>Very basic info
>Incredibly skewed against the Romans
Granted from the title you can kind of tell that it'll have the Romans as antagonists but even then the acting is just bleh.

>>Incredibly skewed against the Romans
For ex?
>>
>Be king of tiny kingdom
>Upon death give kingdom to insane roman emperor and my daughters
>wtf why are the romans killing my daughters to assume complete control

How else was this supposed to end?
>>

I'm with this anon. I have not seen the show, but I would like to know how skewed we're talking about here. Little slightly tilted to the left, or so crooked that it's stupid.

That Boudicca looks like amateur actress who wasnt pretty enough to make it into porn, Boudicca is supposed to be a wild eyed, wild haired warrior queen, and did the Iceni even paint themselves in woad?

honestly I'm convinced the Britons were retarded.
>island gets conquered because of Romans and their superior weapons and tactics
>use same shitty tactics that made you lose the first time during revolt
>waste time torturing civilians instead of getting things done
>trap your own army with wagons, securing your demise
>Boudicca still gets hailed as a hero despite getting 80,000 of her people killed in battle and ending any chance of driving the Romans out of Britain

like christ at least the gauls put up a fight, like Vercingetorix was actually competent and knew how to play to his strengths

It's been awhile since I've watched it but I remember the Roman generals being depicted as like Saturday morning cartoon villains. For example I recall Roman generals shown right before the battle of Cannae as having incredibly arrogant tones and saying that victory was no doubt assured. The same goes for other Romans such as in the episodes about Teutoberg and Spain.

Watch it yourself to form your own opinions but this is how I remember it.

Also, Boudicca was probably not that young, she had daughters who were at least 12 since they were old enough to be raped

Okay, keep following your biased meme history

>Varro, in command on the first day, is presented by contemporary sources as a man of reckless nature and hubris, who was determined to defeat Hannibal. While the Romans were approaching Cannae, a small portion of Hannibal's forces ambushed them. Varro repelled the attack and continued on his way to Cannae. This victory, though essentially a mere skirmish with no lasting strategic value, greatly bolstered the confidence of the Roman army, perhaps to overconfidence on Varro's part. Paullus, however, was opposed to the engagement as it was taking shape. Unlike Varro, he was prudent and cautious, and he believed it was foolish to fight on open ground, despite the Romans' numerical strength. This was especially true since Hannibal held the advantage in cavalry (both in quality and quantity). Despite these misgivings, Paullus thought it unwise to withdraw the army after the initial success, and camped two-thirds of the army east of the Aufidus River, sending the remainder to fortify a position on the opposite side. The purpose of this second camp was to cover the foraging parties from the main camp and harass those of the enemy.[12]
