I really like history but many times occured to me that I dont even know where to start to learn about something. For example today I got interested in the First Opium War but I was where the fuck do I start.
Help me guys Im 0 iq
I just use wikipedia for everything 2bh. If I want to learn even more, I watch a documentary or read a book about it.
Search for "best book on (historical period)". If it's not too obscure you normally find some kind of discussion on a forum or even a "top-ten" style list. Then you start reading said book. I normally try to download books illegally, dont tell the cops

use the literature or book recommendation/request threads here. there's usually a thread up like now, for example.
You read wikipedia then if you want to know more you read books about it. Even a retard would know this.

I got a physics degree, do you ?
Start with one region, and read about their every move until the modern day, from becoming an empire to revolutions and disasters.
That's how i would do it anyway, maybe there's better ways.
