Different ships and what their purpose was. The size and impact of navies Any particularly noteable ships, tactics or battles.

do you mean ships being torpedoed/bombed by aircraft? because that's mostly what happened. ship to ship fighting is quite uncommon in that time period

Really depends on the navy and it's doctrine
the role of the battlecruiser in the kriegsmarine was not the same as in the imperial navy
