However you cannot deny the fact that the older super powers of Europe (France, Britain, Russia) very much hated the idea of this newly unified, militaristic, super state growing in power in the midst of the old powers. Germany did take aggressive action against Belgium, which was their only true crime against neutral sovereignty. The Germans were backing their eastern kingdom in a Balkan war, and the Franco-Russian pact meant that since Russia had declared war to protect serbia, the Germans had to fight France as a given.

The British should have just stayed out of the war, they went in for wishy-washy reasons and survived the war as a much more indebted, poorer, and weaker power, with a huge Bolshevik problem in their industrial slums.

The Germans of the great war were different from the Nazi Germans without a doubt. The only glaring similarity that makes people think otherwise is the German veneration for militarism. The German empire had no democracy, the third Reich had democratically elected a man running on the platform of putting an end to democracy. Not to mention most Germans hated Kaiser Willy while Hitler enjoyed an approval rating in his pre-war years of close to 95%

Fuck off history isn't preordained. There were multiple flare ups in the late 19th/early 20th century and none of them led to world war. The only reason why the assassination caused WW1 was because of German autism.
