Daily reminder that Ali was the rightful successor of Muhammed, peace be upon him, and that Abu Bakr was a usurper and just some guy the Prophet knew.
Never understood this. The prophet's entire thing was going against familial succession and tribal politics.

Look at the deep, oriental wisdom in Ali's eyes. Surely you can't think he's wrong!
my Iranian friend and I like to discuss religion, politics and all the like
my favorite moment was after we had been discussing Muhammad's succession and he thought about it and then said "Yeah Sunnis are just butthurt, because they aren't related ya'know?"
The same ones who forced Ali into being a Caliph are the same ones that murdered Uthman. Aka, the 1st gen Khawarij.
The fact that Shias can't see this simple fact is disturbing

for the record my friend from Iran claims he is Zoroastrian and has a bunch of cool Iranian fare in his home as well and neither of us are very hardcore in are political or religious ideologies but both of us are fairly aware of the world and the way things are
I just found his oversimplification of a complex matter to be funny with his candid response
