Oh, I also recommend The Killing of America (1982)
>>
The Great War from the sixties and The First World War from 200something are about WW1 and both are absolutely fantastic. Much better than World at War to be honest.
>>
>>264404
I watched the 60's one and it was too depressing for me. I stopped watching after Verdun episode. Pretty good though.

It's horribly dated, and the narration sucks.

The film footage is top notch though.

>>264384
Really good documentary.

My contribution : although it's rather /g/ related, "Triumph of the nerds" is the best documentary on the history of computing by far.
>>
The Great War series on YouTube are pretty good. It's not mangled by moralisms just straight up events and motives.

I like it but they stray too close and too often to the "lions led by donkeys" memery.
>>
>>264404
I definitely agree with the Great War series, amazing stuff.

Its six ghostwritten essays about why West is great and why we should be more Christian.

Its self-congrulation for "western achievements" such as Medicine and work organisation.

Proper economic historians consider him a joke.

The Greatest Story never told

Really great film for those who want to seek TRUTH about WW2 and the Eternal ANGLO subhumans.

Too bad I can't watch it in my Anglo-occupied country so I can't link it.

Hearts and Minds is an essential contemporary documentary made about the Vietnam War. Some pretty powerful footage and pretty significant interviews with some of the key players involved in the conflict.

The Fog of War is also good.
>>
Russian Ark is very good.

Koyaanisqatsi.

The last one is academically sourced. Stolypin's assassination is one of the most intriguing events in history. He would have given the peasants of Russia the reforms they wanted without the bloodshed of the Bolsheviks.

I really enjoy this series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=ELlzBS5WrPu4s

I wish there was a German equivalent.

More documentaries?
>>
Power of nightmares from 2004 is pretty good, great analysis of the war on terror, neocons and jihadists
>>

Fog of War is where it's at. It really gets into McNamara's head and showcases that he was really the man driving the Vietnam War even as he tries to convince himself that he isn't responsible.

It's also a great look at the Cold War in general, particularly the Cuban Missile Crisis.
