I would definitely say Goering. He was Hitler's right hand man and a war veteran, of a prestigious unit I might add. He would be like Marc Anthony but with no Octavian to usurp him.

It would've decapitated the political leadership of the Third Reich. Not just Hitler, but Himmler, Heydrich, Goebbels, Alfred (((Rosenberg))), Julius Streicher and many other high-ranking Nazis were also in attendance and would've likely died as well.

Hermann Göring, already President of the Reichstag (for what little worth that had) would probably be made Fuhrer/Chancellor (only Hitler could hold the title Fuhrer and there was no constitutional process for selection of a new one).

Presuming the Nazi Party can recover from the loss of so many of its key leaders (it was already a movement fraught with jurisdictional infighting because of the Fuhrer principal, the loss of so many department heads would only exacerbate that), Goring would execute a far more limited war against the Western Allies and avoid conflict with the Soviet Union for the time being. It's up in the air whether or not the 1940 Blitzkrieg would be nearly as successful, naturally the loss of the highly aggressive Hitler might result in OKW taking a more cautious approach.

Separate peace with the Western Allies? Maybe, maybe not. It might just degenerate into a semi-permenant stalemate like in Korea where the Western Allies sit and wait for a chance to strike at Germany when they're pre-occupied with something else.

War with the Soviet Union? Definitely will happen at some point down the line, the ideological animosity between the Third Reich and USSR was too extreme for relations to be peaceful forever. However, this future conflict will not be carried out with the same genocidal ferocity as the war under Hitler would've.

War with the United States? Unlikely if Goring plays his cards right and doesn't commit to brazenly illegal acts like attacking the Netherlands, very likely if he does the opposite or signs the Tripartite Pact (Germany's actions were already pushing popular opinion increasingly in favor of intervention even prior to Pearl Harbor).

As for the Jews, Roma,and every other ethnic group on the German hit list. Well life isn't pleasant under Fuhrer Göring and they most certainly aren't regarded as equal under the law, but it doesn't escalate into a campaign of refining mass murder to the point of being an art. Elser's bomb would've killed the most murder-happy members of the Nazi Party, and Göring, although an incompetent morphine junkie, would likely have (rightfully) recognized the proposed Final Solution as a lethal threat to the Third Reich's credibility. He would've simply been content with mass deportation and seizing property instead.

That's true, but Göring was not the driving force behind that. He would likely have never done so without prompting from Hitler or Himmler.
