How come the Norse developed such intriguing and unique culture so early? They weren't only out of the Mediterranean, they were located in far north of Europe, yet they managed to develop a complex mythology, writing system, some relatively advanced technology like longbows. They were also extremely agressive and expansive, and as a result of their numerous raids they influenced the political system in Northern Europe(and not only) and even forged new states. Slavs, which were several times larger group and were located in milder climate didn't manage any of that.
>longbows
Longboats?
They also discovered America before Columbus.

Etruscans developed this you twit.
Thing about the mythology is that a bit of it was written down by a sympathizing Christian scholar, Snorri Sturlasson. The same didn't really happen to the Slavs.
But nonetheless, I agree. Sailing everywhere between Canada and Persia is quite the feat.
Because of the eternal (((christian)))
