One of Paul's letters, possibly 1 Thessalonians.
Many scholars consider the gnostic texts closer than the biblical ones.

The earliest gospel is Mark. It just says it's the gospel of Jesus (Iesou) Christ in it in the beginning though.
Matthew was probably similar to a Jewish Aramaic version of it that existed that may have not included genealogies or the virgin birth.

Which? Including The Gospel of Thomas they all seem to derive the character of Jesus from the canonical gospel narrative.

1 Corinthians 15 is probably the earliest, though Act 2 is close. The gospel of Mark is the earliest of the gospels. The reason for Mark being the earliest is the redundancies of stories and words left in certain verses, the shortness of the narrative, the leaving in of Aramaism in Jesus' sayings and lastly agnostic scholar Maurice Casey (who concludes it was written 10 years after Jesus' death, which very few evangelical scholars would hold), says that Mark was likely written by a person whose first language was likely Aramaic and Greek being the second language to write his gospel. Casey was able to analyse the method of writing and saw the style and saw it to be the case. Casey also recognizes that Mark is somewhat incomplete (in his opinion), likely due to the cutting off of the ending of Mark 16:8 before the insertion of the longer ending later on.
