What was urban white youth culture like in the early 1900s? (prior to minorities)

poor gangs who sometimes beat the shit out of each other.

Gangs of new york kind of shows what it was like albeit in theatrical style. Little kids were pickpockets. Otheres were just thieves or pimps mostly, however with no drugs to deal and lots of work opportunities it didn't really pay. The women were prostitutes. Some gangs were actually just working class men who liked to be in some sort of community like a union.

That essentially sums up lower class back then, rather harmless compared to today. Because white people are civilized/

warring gangs but they worked because there was no drug trade and enough job opportunities. Some of them were basically the early form of unions

Shit.

there's a tremendous amount of culture in NYC in theater, cinema, music, and museums. You don't need to be rich to enjoy it, although it can be hard if you're working 2 jobs just to live paycheck to paycheck.
