Has there a been in time when intellectuals/philosophers actually benefited society didn't ruin everything for everyone?
Maybe anti-intellectualism is a good thing?

>Maybe anti-intellectualism is a good thing
the ultimate redpill
Trick question; no one noteworthy have actually benefited society instead of ruin it for everyone.
>>2607657
>rothbard
>intellectual
Ah, I see you are fresh out of eighth grade
Don't you think that any of the prominent living scientists, inventors, or engineers are benefiting society today?

STEMfags aren't really intellectuals, and I don't mean that in an offensive sense, because they're definitely very smart and talented people. But the majority are just passionate about their area of work and don't really care about the way society is run in a broader sense.

>Milton not ruining the west with neoliberalism
>>2607745
How do you define what an intellectual is, though?
>>2607711

>MARX INTELLECTUAL

>>2607845
>spends his whole life studying/reading/writing
>PhD in philosophy
>speaks like 6 languages
>even 200 years later his writing are so numerous they are not finished in a historical critical edition
>hurr durr Marx is stupid
your retarded
>>2607861
but did he benefit society? that is the question
>>2607867
Following the scientific method in itself benefits society. If you tune science in a certain way you get shitty science like in Nazi Germany.
And yes, Marx was one of the first one that post questions about the importance of economies in history and for 150 years historians tried to disprove Marx. Certainly they certainly regarded his works as "inspiration". The prime examples would be Max Weber or Theodor Mommsen.
>in b4 history doesn't provide anything to society
Well every non-shitty society runs humanities. Only shitty states like China or Russia restrict it. I will take this argument over any anonymous post on a Bulgarian origami board.
Picture should include Hitler for forcing a war which led to Pax Americana

Archimedes
Isaac Newton
Copernicus

>for 150 years historians tried to disprove Marx.
Communist states already disproved him, no need for a dissertation
>>2607861
>>2607867
You're* fucking retard
>Every country that implemented Marx's and Engels work into government failed, changed from communist, or is failing.
>Trust a pseudo-philosopher about economics
>His inspiration caused over a 100,000,000 deaths in the 20th century plus countless more either by communism or socialism.
>Reading his, and Engels work is the edgiest shit on the planet.
>Reading his work and applying it today is retarded
You should read multiple biographies on Marx he was clearly a self-destructive abusive autist

Yes. I'm sure those people who flee celebrating Casto's death were sad they're not in Cuba.
