In the thread about the problem of evil a week or two ago a couple of anons would bring up theodicies by Augustine and Irenaeus. Some guys in the thread said that what Augustine and Irenaeus done was blasphemy. Do they mean re-interpreting the bible into your own meaning and not taking it as the word of God? This would have massive implications when you think about it only fundamentalists Christians would be non-blasphemers.

Not him, but of course not. If you stick to a literal interpretation of the bible, you can't really believei n Christianity at all, as literally interpreting the Old Testament would involve literally interpreting things like "Don't listen to guys like Jesus" and "you don't actually need to do anything other than pray to be forgiven by God"

Most fundies read the KJV, which is by no stretch of the imagination a fully accurate translation.
So, to stick to the word of that isn't really cohering to the bible.
