I have a question about poo /his/
But it's a serious question...even though it's a funny topic.
Where did men go when they had to poo or pee during a march to war?
Now I know 1900 on they had latrines, or dug a ditch etc.
But if you go back even 50 years before then, transporting troops was extremely slow.
Lets take the Civil War for example.
Sometimes they may be walking for days to get to a battle.
Once they stop traveling for the day, I get it..they dig a hole or whatever.
But lets say during the marching you gotta take a dump.
Would the soldier just get out of line?
Isn't that against the rule to fall out of formation?
Did they ask for permission?
If they were granted permission, I know the march wouldn't stop...so did the soldiers have to rush and catch back up with the army?
That seems like an easy way to desert as well.
Does anyone know?
They would poo in the morning and evening, or during stops

what if they couldn't hold it?

You can hold in a poop for quite a long time without many consequences. Peeing is different but you can pee pretty quickly.
In their pants. Then they shook it down their legs.
When they had diarrhea, it was more common than you'll ever know for them to poo-poo on themselves like little babies!!!!! Oooooooh!!!
depends on culture
mostly they make camp stops every couple of hours and force march they have to hold it in
sometimes they would coat their arrows with shit to fuck their enemies over
