What is your favorite school of economics and are you a Geoist?

Mine is Keynesian and I'm a Geoist.

Ecological. The theory, empirical study and analysis of economic systems, networks,(evo) games In relation to the material(socio-ecological) world that the economy feeds off of.
Capitalist markets need to go, I'm in favor of a mutualist economy where the means of production can be possessed in a egalitarian and individualistic manner, but are managed, and allocated teleologically with applied science to unsure sustainability and optimization

Sure but systems have to be arranged so that we're rewarding people for hard work and efficiency. There are some very salable effects of markets on economic and moral behavior. Not everything should be subjected to a market though, and different markets work better under different circumstances.

The comment you made on individualist behavior is important, because independence should be rewarded under a system of capitalism or any other similar system.

Socialism is always interesting. I still have yet to read some literature on the subject but the socialism proposed by Gesell looks interesting. Mill entertained the idea of socialism in his principles.

Anyway, your stance on Geoism sir?
>>
economics can't be detached from politics and ethics. Post-Marxian economists have forgotten this. I quite like the Scholastics and Physiocrats, but in terms of modern econ, I like network economics somewhat, the Santa Fe group included in the several volumes of "the Economy as an Evolving Complex System", and the critical realists.

I'm thinking of just dropping into Economic History @ masters because I can't handle how much of a joke modern economics is.

Modern economics seems to be aspects of Keynesian economics plus econometrics.

I'm currently reading the father of econometrics: Léon Walras. Have you read anything by this individual?
>>
>>2589052
Austrain, and no.
>>
>>2589052
What the fuck is a geoist and why do you like keynesianism?
>>

>I'm in favor of a mutualist economy where the means of production can be possessed in a egalitarian and individualistic manner,
sounds like COUMMINISM GET OUT YA COMMIE
>>
>>2589119
Why does deep ecology and economic egalitarianism have to go hand in hand?

Just another trend Marxists are trying to piggy back on seems like. If a lack of proper imperialism didn't kill capitalism as Lenin predicted a lack of concern for the environment surely will!
>>
if one of the greatest early economic thinkers hailed form Scotland, then why is the region so famously destitute?

Freidman and the chicago boys

new-keynesian because that's the mainstream consensus now and i don't have the required phd and 15 years of research to be able to pretend i could adequately challenge it, plus it mainly seems reasonable

and no
>>
Pigovian economics all the way. Tax bad shit, lower generic income taxes ,maximize overall well being.
>>
>>2589052
Market monetarist and no I'm not. You're not entitled to the product of my land, commie. If you need more land, push your states to develop space programs in the same way Locke wanted his government to explore the New World.

Because anglos.

For Keynesianism it's pretty crucial that the government actually runs a surplus in times of plenty to keep debt in check. I like the idea of distributism, but I'm willing to accept welfare state captialism as the best practical form available provided the government doesn't engage in wanton spending. Geoism is cool
>>
I feel I still don't know enough to actually say which I like best. But I do agree with Keynesianism, and I'm generally in favour of redistributive policies, and government intervention in strategical or heavily concentrated sectors

In regards to geoism, it sounds fine, yeah.

Last week I finished reading Friedman's Freedom and Capitalism, and now started with Marx.
>>
I guess I like postkeynesians the most. I'm okey with geoists.

>By a continuing process of inflation, government can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. - Keynes
What did he mean by this?
>>
>>2589052
I'm from the Historical school, Geoist, and believe in personal determination's leading role in human events, economics at the forefront of this.
Please help me.
>>
>>2595810
It's so obvious you just put it there to take the epin photo.
>>
>>2595823
Every dollar added decreases the value of the dollars already in circulation. The government printing more money increases their own wealth relative to their citizens.

Of course, we let the banks do all of that, because what could possibly go wrong with letting corporations hold our government hostage financially?

To be honest I don't know enough about economics

The current system works in ways, it surely increases wealth, but it is also highly wasteful
