Lmfao anon.
You are right about the Mamluks though. The answer to OP's question would be roughly something along of the lines of: 'somewhere a large amount of light cavalry isn't effective or easily countered'.

Maritime states. The Mongols tried to invade Japan twice but were unable to make headway. The 2nd invasion was foiled by typhoons, but the 1st one actually made a landing, but the Japanese resisted fiercely.
The lesser-known expedition to Java was also a critical failure. The Mongols were known to utilize ships and troops transports in the brutal and grinding war against the Song, but those were primarily in conjunction with river and coastal operations. In open-sea, the Mongols failed to project their power effectively.
Also, the Mongols could never conquer and subjugate the whole of India. The drier northwestern regions suited horses and composite bows fine, but once they entered the more humid regions, their bows fell apart and the horses were starving for want of forage. India has been traditionally known for having shitty pasturage for horses.
